5-Minute Halloween Crafts
Leaf-y Jack-o-Lanterns – I love this time of year for all the colorful leaves falling. Head outside and collect a few of those pretty orange ones to create a fun baggy Jack-o-lantern. You really can’t get much easier than this. Fabulous for home or the classroom!
Chalk Ghosts – These adorable little ghosts are perfect for the chalkboard or construction paper. Simply trace and color ghost shapes — cookie cutters or cardboard cutouts make the perfect templates. A fast and fun craft that’s sure to bring some Halloween spirit to any space!
SOCK-ingly Spooky Ghosts – Grab an old white sock, some scissors, and markers — and voilà! You’ve got yourself a ghostly masterpiece. This one’s especially fun for preschoolers and can double as a puppet for pretend play afterward.
Sensory Ghosts – A fabulous craft for kids of all ages! These sensory ghosts combine touch and creativity — think soft textures, squishy fillings, or puffy paint — making them as fun to make as they are to play with.
Jack-o-Lantern Window Decoration – This simple project is perfect for quiet time or as a group activity. Create cheerful (or spooky!) jack-o’-lantern faces to hang in your windows. When your little one is done, they’ll have a handmade Halloween decoration to proudly display.
Playdough Monsters – Whip up a batch of playdough, add some googly eyes, pipecleaners, and buttons, and your little ones can create their own Halloween Monsters!
A Pumpkin Pinwheel – Whirl, twirl, and play! These pumpkin pinwheels are not only adorable but also so much fun to spin around afterward. A quick craft that turns into a toy — win-win!
Dixie Ghosts – A slightly trickier twist on the classic cotton ball ghost craft, these Dixie cup Ghosts are great for older kids who love to get creative with different materials.
Facial Tissue Ghosts – This one is my youngest’s absolute favorite. Come mid-October, we turn into facial tissue ghost-making machines! They’re simple, sweet, and always a hit — proof that the easiest crafts are sometimes the most loved.
Jack-o-Lantern Shaving Cream Art – If you’re up for a bit of messy fun, this one’s a sensory delight! Swirl shaving cream and paint to create unique jack-o’-lantern masterpieces — a great way for little ones to explore textures and color mixing.
Pumpkin Name Puzzle – Last but not least, my personal favorite — Pumpkin Name Puzzles! Not only are these crafts adorable, but they’re also full of learning opportunities. Kids get to practice spelling their names while creating something festive and fun.
There you have it — loads of 5-minute crafts to help you and your little ones embrace the Halloween countdown with creativity and laughter!
