Quiet Time is such a wonderful way to bring balance to your day! A little break for independent, quiet play isn’t just great for kids—it helps them unwind and process all the busy learning they’ve done earlier in the day. Plus, it’s a total game-changer for parents, too! When we get a moment to rest and recharge, it fills our cup and helps us bring more energy, patience, and fun to the afternoon.

I have created two versions: the Toddler Edition and the Preschool Edition. Today, I will give you an in-depth overview of this amazing toddler edition so you too can enjoy a peaceful daily rhythm. Then come back tomorrow to learn all about our preschool edition!
Quiet Time Activities for Toddlers
First, story time!! You might have heard my story about why I started quiet time all those years ago. I was beyond struggling. I had dreamed of staying home with my kids, but my boys were SO busy—bordering on out of control—and I was exhausted, with no time for myself.
One night, I declared I was going to make a change. I wasn’t going to give up—I was going to find a solution.
Fast forward a few months, and I discovered the magic of a balanced rhythm, with quiet time as the key. It gave me an hour to recharge, and it made such a difference—my kids became calmer and happier, too. It wasn’t easy at first, but it was absolutely life-changing, and now quiet time is part of my mission to help other families.
Okay, now let’s dive into the magical world of The Quiet Time Club.
What is The Quiet Time Club?
The Quiet Time Club is divided into seven months of activities, pairing perfectly with my toddler curriculum and included with The Everything Toddler Bundle. The resource is designed to provide your toddler with a time of quiet, independent, and calming activities. Each activity will last 30 to 60 minutes or longer. There is no need to interrupt your child while they are doing the activity. Sometimes, they will find their own unique way of playing, and you will find they aren’t interrupting you for any reason, either.
Within each month, you receive:
- A list of the five materials that will be used for that month’s activities.
- An undated calendar with links to your daily Quiet Time activities.
- A coursebook with a photo and simple instructions for each activity.
- A detailed description of one of the 6 Golden Rules to help you and your child get the most from this calming time of day.
I am so excited to share everything with you! This resource is something I wish I had myself all those years ago.
What is Included and What is Needed?
You are provided with a complete seven-month supplies checklist. This way, if there is anything from the list you don’t already have, you can easily take a trip to the dollar store. You can get it all at once, or you can go month by month. I’d like to give you an example month so you can see some of the materials we are using.
Month Two Example:
- Popsicle Sticks
- Pipe Cleaners
- Paper Cups
- Buttons
- Clothes Pins
You will also be provided with a calendar for each month, allowing you to easily follow along with each daily activity. I keep it organized, easy, and fun!
In your comprehensive coursebook, you will find a detailed description of each activity and picture examples to guide you. Every activity is carefully designed to nurture a variety of core skills. We will highlight the specific abilities your child will be developing as they engage in these Quiet Time activities for toddlers. These skills include fine motor development, letter and number recognition, pattern identification, color awareness, and problem-solving. Additionally, your child will build independence, enhance their imagination, and grow in many other crucial areas. The book is crafted to provide both you and your child with a rich, well-rounded experience that supports their overall development through play and creativity.
And lastly, don’t forget all the beautiful artwork printables, animal friends, play-dough mats, posters, and a quiet time banner!
The 6 Golden Rules for Quiet Time Activities for Toddlers
Implementing Quiet Time isn’t always easy, but I promise it will be worth it! I have carefully created The 6 Golden Rules to help you implement your daily Quiet Time. If things are not going well or if you are being met with some resistance, refer to these Golden Rules to guide you through.
Let me give you a sneak peek into one of these rules:
Golden Rule #5: Connect Before and After. Spend some time connecting with your child before and after Quiet Time, ensuring their cup is full of love. ❤️
One common challenge with Quiet Time is helping children feel comfortable being independent. Children often want to share their ideas and creations, and being alone can feel uncertain. To address this, it’s important to ensure a strong connection throughout the day, making sure there are moments of togetherness that fill their “cup” with love. A few minutes of connection before and after Quiet Time can help children feel safe and cared for, making them more comfortable being alone. This time together helps them understand that Quiet Time is temporary and encourages their independence.
